Garage Carpenters

Building a Woodworking Community

About Garage Carpenters

I’m a hobbyist woodworker who has found a real joy in creating things out of wood.  I have a full time job working in the National Health Service and a very busy family life with young children, so it is difficult getting time to research projects and well as actually do them.  When I first started out I found the environment intimidating – all the tools, the different woods, the terminology – so I wanted to create a place that supports people from the start of their woodworking journey through to becoming highly skilled carpenters.
I, like many of you, have found a space in my garage to set up a work area and to store my growing collection of tools, which gave me the idea for the name – Garage Carpenters.
Through this website, my YouTube channel and other social media I want to share what it is like to undertaking woodworking projects as a novice, my experience of putting the amazing amount of professional advice and guides into practice and generally share the things I have found useful.
It would be great to create a community of amateur carpenters/woodworkers, who want to share their learning journey with other likeminded people, and I hope that this can be both a useful recourse in itself and a safe place to share your projects and experiences.
I hope you find my resources useful and I would like to encourage you to share your projects and experiences with the Garage Carpenters community.
